The intelligent flotation - less chemicals with improved wastewater treatment

The system of intelligent flotation is superior in the pre-treatment of industrial waste water and the forte of our buisness. It aids the skimming off of emulsified substances, such as oil and fat as well as nitrogen and protein, through chemical and physical processes. Through the flotation system, the carried mass in the waste water can be reduced by up to 90%.

By using the trademark process ‘intelligent flotation’ we offer the possibility to reduce the use of chemicals to a minimum. This not only benefits the environment but also reduces running costs.

The ‘intelligent flotation’ offers many advantages compared to conventional processes. The main objective is the appropriate dosage of the necessary chemicals. We are able to measure the degree of pollution in real time and can adjust the chemical use as required. This allows for an adequate dosage and reduces the amount of chemicals needed in the process. Apart from this special method the cleaning performance can be adjusted to always meet the requirements of the used facilities. This way it doesn’t always run on maximum output but rather integrates smoothly into running plants.

Furthermore, the system of ‚intelligent Flotation’ can automatically react to wastewater peaks during times of increased usage. This is especially helpful in slaughterhouses, because they do no longer need a mixing and equalization basin.  Mixing and equalization basins cause nitrogen to convert into ammonium when they rest for more than 30 Minutes. Once nitrogen has converted into ammonium it can’t be removed and skimmed off any longer.

The nitrogen reduction during the flotation in fresh wastewater of slaughterhouses is about 75% and is reduced to about 40% after a short ammonification period in a mixing and equalization basin.

Since at the same time this leads to a rapid reduction of carbon compounds which causes an inopportune carbon nitrogen ratio. This causes difficulties for the following biological cleaning steps.

All in all the mixing and equalization basin causes many problems in the cleaning process apart from the bad smell it emits.
