Milchverwertung Ostallgäu (MVO) in Rückholz has been operating its own wastewater treatment plant for 50 years. As organic loads in wastewater have risen in recent years, the cooperative has had the choice to build additional SBR basins or to go new economic ways. The choice fell on the "intelligent" flotation plant for the separation of fat and phosphorus, with which the cheese dairy saves investment and in the long term also energy.
